Allard Kenneth Lowenstein (January 16, 1929 – March 14, 1980) was an American academic, author, and politician. A member of the Democratic Party, he notably served as the U.S. Representative for New York's 5th congressional district from 1969 to 1971. Joseph P. Lash (1909-1987), personal friend of Eleanor Roosevelt, was the author of several works on the Roosevelts. He was active in various youth organizations in the 1930s and 1940s, and worked as a United Nations correspondent and assistant editor of the New York Post.
